Julie Falls-Anderson lives and works in Christchurch. She has over ten years’ experience in business education.
Julie is a business contractor at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. She has been delivering the Certificate in Small Business Management (NZQA Level 4) since 2004 and currently delivers the Certificate in Applied Small Business Growth and Development (NZQA Level 5). Since 2004, Julie has assisted over one thousand business tauira to plan, initiate, and execute their business ideas.
Julie has also been involved in the writing of new business programmes, which include the Certificate in Money Management (NZQA Level 3) and the Certificate in Applied Small Business Growth and Development (NZQA Level 5). Julie has won the Tutor of the Year award from the School of Sustainable Business Management at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with First Class Honours) in Information Technology and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science. She also holds a National Certificate in Adult Education and Training. Julie was the recipient of a Bright Futures Scholarship, which has allowed her to commence her PhD in Information Technology and Franchising.
Julie has been self-employed since 2008. Her first business venture was as a café owner, and she has since been involved in businesses in a range of industries including education, publishing, management consultancy, and property investment.
Julie has been pivotal in providing practical business programmes alongside Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, with the intention of aiding the economic development following the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. She maintains excellent contacts in the Māori community.
